Answered prayers....

we don't want to share everything just yet, but keep praying for us friends. It looks like God is working on our transportation needs, our car repair needs, our future ministry needs, and more right now. So press in for us and we'll be sharing very soon.

LOL... best news of the day :)

Chris BalasTheWolverine.com Senior Editor

Ten USA TODAY football editors and reporters can't be wrong ? right? The panel recently voted former Michigan and current New England quarterback Tom Brady the NFL's Player of the Decade over Indianapolis signal caller Peyton Manning. Brady's status as the only quarterback in NFL history to start -- and win -- three Super Bowls during the decade, earning MVP honors in the first two, gave him a one-point edge over Manning.

"Peyton has the better stats, but it's the big games that matter," former Pro Bowl tight end and current CBS analyst Shannon Sharpe said. "For the longest time, Peyton couldn't win the big one.""You normally don't see [sixth]-rounders turn out to be what Tom Brady became, and it was because of the 'Big Game,'" Sharpe said. "He got thrown in there after [Drew] Bledsoe was hurt and never looked back. One of the components of being a great quarterback is putting the time in [to study]. He has done that."Brady's streak of throwing his first 162 passes without an interception -- the longest to start a career in league history - and his 16-0 regular season record in 2007 also helped his cause. He threw for a league-record 50 touchdowns, including three or more in 12 games that season, and his 117.2 passer rating was second of all time, earning him league MVP honors.
"In watching Tom play that year," Hall of Fame quarterback Sonny Jurgensen told USA TODAY, "I don't think anyone ever played the position better."

Manning, Brett Favre, Donovan McNabb and Drew Brees rounded out the list of top five quarterbacks of the decade.

Zeke turns 4 today...

We'll post some more pics from his birthday on FACEBOOK later today. It's hard to think that we were staying up all night in the hospital with ryan and kelly and waiting on parents to drive thru the night and early the next morning for our firstborn... wow, it's been four years already! Happy Birthday ZEKE!

Second great week...

of our new small group. We had several new faces. God is really blessing our efforts to advance His Kingdom in this place right now. We had over 20 people in our home on Sunday night (14 adults and 9 kids). It was a blast. It was nice to discuss God's word, eat together, prayer and praise as a group, and see God create a new part of His ever-growing family.

Please, Lord continue to bless the discipleship process in the Waters' home on Sundays. And friends, please pray for Corrie and I as we do our best to be the servant-leaders of the group.

Small Group...

We started our small group this past weekend. It was really good. We had 9 adults and 6 kids. God really blessed our conversations and our prayers. We've also had 2 more families express this week that they'd like to come. It was awesome to turn our home into a house of ministry again. We really missed that! Anyway, lift up us and our people as we try to walk out this journey of a new small group. Hopefully, we'll see people changed, people find Jesus, and people join our group so we can multiply and start more groups:)

Good week of ministry...

Wow, I have really enjoyed parts of this week so far.
Sunday, I got to host a table at our newcomer welcome brunch. Sooooo exciting to see all kinds of new faces at the church. I really felt God moving as we shared the vision and family of the Vineyard. Might have even recruited a new face or 2 to our small group (Starts this sunday!).
Monday, Corrie finally got to got to VLT with me. It was a tremendous time of worship. Our lead pastors shared about the power of prayer and how God has been blessing us. Visit this link: http://www.thevineyardchurch.us/media/happynotes/hnh_jan10.pdf and learn how our 8.5 million dollar building got paid off in less than 6 years! WOW! After worship, the 200 small group leaders and pastors broke into groups for prayer and the prophetic. God really used us and I think we saw some good inner healing go on inside of those in our circle. Plus, we received some strong words for our own hearts and lives.
As the week has gone on, we have prayed for our upcoming smallgroup launch and have received word that some friends and some that we haven't even met before are planning on attending. Hopefully, we will see the Spirit transform all of our lives as we walk this out together.
Tonight, another blessing! We attended the first 3 hours of small group training. The traing was fine, but the last part (filled with worship, prophetic and prayer) was really blessed. It was great to "do the stuff" and have it modeled well be the leaders at the Vineyard. Thanks Jim, Cathy and Daniel for your hearts for smallgroup and changed lives through community....

We can't wait for tomorrow morning's session (another 4 hour block). Plus, we are anticipating more Jesus on Sunday for worship as we "Get to Know the Author."

Finally, pray for us as we launch a new small group this Sunday night at 5:15pm.

Another milestone in the Adventure this week...

...took place when we received a monthly pledge of $25 per month. This brings us to 27% of our goal! God is so amazing and faithful. We hope that everyone had a tremendous New Year. We got to celebrate with the Johnsons on the 31st and Corrie's family the rest of the weekend. It was very relaxing, but today is paperwork day and then tomorrow Adam will be back on the road. Pray for us as we have a Small Group conference this weekend and then we launch our brand-new small group this next week.
