The 5 levels of DELEGATION.... thought these were good (not mine, BTW).
As a leader, whenever you delegate a task, you need to make it clear what level of authority you are conferring to others:
- Level 1: Do exactly what I have asked you to do. Don’t deviate from my instructions. I have already researched the options and determined what I want you to do.
- Level 2: Research the topic and report back. We will discuss it, and then I will make the decision and tell you what I want you to do.
- Level 3: Research the topic, outline the options, and make a recommendation. Give me the pros and cons of each option, but tell me what you think we should do. If I agree with your decision, I will authorize you to move forward.
- Level 4: Make a decision and then tell me what you did. I trust you to do the research, make the best decision you can, and then keep me in the loop. I don’t want to be surprised by someone else.
- Level 5: Make whatever decision you think is best. No need to report back. I trust you completely. I know you will follow through. You have my full support.
Question: As a leader, are you making it clear what level of authority you are conferring when you delegate a task?

New sermon series running October 2/3 through November 20/21
Jesus is an amazing healer, with a majority of His ministry here on earth consisting of many healings of all types. He wants His ministry to continue, sending us to do the same and greater works, showing that He is indeed King and His rule and reign has come. However, a great deal of confusion and skepticism are involved when it comes to talking about Jesus healing today.
Jesus Heals & So Can We will be a sermon series that will anchor our faith in Jesus’ desire and methods for healing. We will look at specific accounts of Jesus healing in the Gospels and Acts, being taught by the Holy Spirit how faith, authority, sin, compassion and power work together in the healing ministry. We will also look at contemporary examples of how members of our own church family have experienced or witnessed healing by Jesus in recent years. We will delve into the meaning behind the title of our sermon series, understanding that Jesus heals and, only through Him, so can we.
We are inviting you to join us to spend these next eight weeks focused on Jesus and His healing ministry. In addition to our regular weekend services, we will be holding a number of events throughout the week that will equip and empower you to participate in Jesus’ healing, and experience the presence of the Holy Spirit. Whether you are well familiar with Jesus and His healing ministry, or this is the first time you’ve heard that Jesus still heals today, we welcome you to be a part of this special series. Our prayer is that God will see and hear our desire to press in further to His healing here on earth today, and we as a church will be invigorated to continue the healing work that Jesus began 2000 years ago through the Spirit.
