Happy Thanksgiving!

We had a great weekend with family... but man are we tired. As another matter of thanks, another one-time gift of $100 came in this past weekend. God is soooooo good. See the totals on the side-bar to see how close we are to our goals.

THANK YOU AGAIN!

Another seed planted today! We received a gift of $35. That brings our total over $3,000 raised or pledged (12.5% of our overall goal). God is good! Keep praying for us friends. As Corrie got laid off last week, Adam has picked up a bunch of hours at his part-time job to compensate. Busy times, but God has got a plan through it all. The Spirit is moving as usual.

Side Note: we will be posting some book reviews soon. So far, Adam has read DOING CHURCH, NOTHINGS GONNA STOP IT and EMPOWERED EVANGELICALS since we've been back in Illinois. Good stuff and we recommend all 3 of them to your libraries.

UM won by 50 points last Saturday...

while most people are laughing at RichRod, we turned our attention to the sports we love. As you know, I am a crazy basketball fan and Corrie LOVES volleyball (being an ex-player and coach after all). So, with joy, we watched he #15 ranked Wolverines destroy some team in their home opener on Saturday having never even turned on the oblong-shaped-ballgame tha occured in Wisconsin just a few hours earlier. Also, Corrie is delighted to see the lady-Wolves climb all the way to #13 nationally. It will be exciting if both they and the Illini make the volley tourny coming up soon... thank God for the BT Network! With a bunch of new talent and solid returning upper classmen like Sims and Harris the basketball squad is poised to make the March Madness for the 2nd straight year. It'll be an exciting winter... oh yea, and somebody said there's a football game this weekend too :)

One time gift...

...of $200 came in today. Keep blowing Spirit! That brings us to 12% of our goals. (see column to the right for more details) It came at an amazing time since Adam's new job requires lots of driving and gas money is a must. THANK YOU friends for your love and support.

Purdue Trip...

Happy Monday Everyone!
Corrie's nephew Kyle plays in the marching band at Purdue University. So, Corrie and I went (left at 5am...uggh, but see pretty sunrise pic below) with Dave (her brother) and Jenn to see Kyle play at senior day this past Saturday. It was fun to share in all of the pagentry that went on. From the good-byes to the Seniors before the football game, to the halftime show and parent recognition, to the march out of the stadium and the special concert in the quad to end the day. We had a ball and the game was really entertaining and close... even though Purdue lost. West Lafayette is a beautiful place with a ton of history and tradition (oldest marching band in the USA, by the way). We'll post a few pics here (more on FaceBook) and 2 videos of them marching and of course the tubas for Zeke...lol! Kyle is one of the snares.

God is always working...

Today is one of those days that could have been an opportunity for stress, but turns out to be an opportunity for joy. Corrie's job just cut their staff back from 5 days to 4... ouch. But, I found and started working a part-time job this week (home inspections for mortgage companies). So, even though my income did not really increase our income, with Corrie's paycut, we won't be losing any income. Praise God! It's so cool to see how Father works behind the scenes to create opportunity for His kids to shine and to be taken care of.
Feeling blessed today,
Adam

Football and Faith

Hi everyone...
Well, here is what we are spending a ton of our time on in the next month.... and most of it involves either football or church.... probably our two of our 3 greatest passions (the other being our community which we frequently roll into the football and church categories...lol). Anyway, we wanted to update what we've been doing and what's coming next.

This past weekend, Matt Istnick came over for a visit. We found ridiculously cheep tickets for the UM v. IL football game. Dad came away happy that the Illini won for the first time against UM in years. We met a guy who gave us free passes to one of the alumni tents for food and drink. That made the day soooo much better. Also last week, Corrie and I took BEGINNINGS at the Vineyard and "officially" became members.

The kids have been sick so we missed small group this week, but we think we found one we really like. Jim and Vicky Egli are the leaders and small group pastors at Vineyard. We think they'll not only be small group friends, but good friends outside of church events.

Adam went to Vineyard Leadership Training monday and prayed with some new friends. God really opening up my eyes to some things I will need to be praying and encouraging about during our stay in Champaign. Also, we have received our official marching orders (things to study and participate in) during our training time in Champaign. Lots of books to read and lots of conferences/equipping to be a part of.

That's last week. Here's what's coming up for us in the next few days...
November 6-7 - NOTHINGS GONNA STOP IT! conference at the Vineyard
November 12 - Adam meets with Ben
November 13-14 - Travel to INDIANA to visit with family and see nephew Kyle play in Purdue band.
November 19 - small group
November 20-22 - Travel to OHIO to visit with friends and visit RC3 supporters.
Then, we have a whole host of people visiting both locally and from afar for Thanksgiving.
December 4-5 - ENCOUNTER GOD retreat... email/call me if you'd like to come!
