Football and Faith

Hi everyone...
Well, here is what we are spending a ton of our time on in the next month.... and most of it involves either football or church.... probably our two of our 3 greatest passions (the other being our community which we frequently roll into the football and church categories...lol). Anyway, we wanted to update what we've been doing and what's coming next.

This past weekend, Matt Istnick came over for a visit. We found ridiculously cheep tickets for the UM v. IL football game. Dad came away happy that the Illini won for the first time against UM in years. We met a guy who gave us free passes to one of the alumni tents for food and drink. That made the day soooo much better. Also last week, Corrie and I took BEGINNINGS at the Vineyard and "officially" became members.

The kids have been sick so we missed small group this week, but we think we found one we really like. Jim and Vicky Egli are the leaders and small group pastors at Vineyard. We think they'll not only be small group friends, but good friends outside of church events.

Adam went to Vineyard Leadership Training monday and prayed with some new friends. God really opening up my eyes to some things I will need to be praying and encouraging about during our stay in Champaign. Also, we have received our official marching orders (things to study and participate in) during our training time in Champaign. Lots of books to read and lots of conferences/equipping to be a part of.

That's last week. Here's what's coming up for us in the next few days...
November 6-7 - NOTHINGS GONNA STOP IT! conference at the Vineyard
November 12 - Adam meets with Ben
November 13-14 - Travel to INDIANA to visit with family and see nephew Kyle play in Purdue band.
November 19 - small group
November 20-22 - Travel to OHIO to visit with friends and visit RC3 supporters.
Then, we have a whole host of people visiting both locally and from afar for Thanksgiving.
December 4-5 - ENCOUNTER GOD retreat... email/call me if you'd like to come!

except for Illinois has not won against Michigan in their own stadium for years...in fact I think they said it was a 30 year losing streak at Illinois stadium against Michigan....
