I decided today that my standard for joy must be a lot weirder that most peoples out there. I was working on church stuff like a fiend today and really loving it! I've got the next 2 sundays off of being the voice of our community (thanks Matt and Jeff), so it is allowing me to work ahead on our November and December sermons, & take care of some much-needed other areas of administration within the body. I have been on my computer for almost 4 hours and my eyes are red and burning with dry contacts, but I feel enthused by working on more chances to share Jesus' love in new and creative ways through our sermons during the holiday season...
It got me thinking about other things that bring forth JOY for me:
1- my daughter cackling
2- Zeke screaming for the tubas at the football games (go Panthers tonight!)
3- my wife cooking chicken stuff
4- my dog standing on her hind legs like a bear
5- fall
6- prayer
7- singing worship songs that have no chord progression, chorus or plan on a wednesday afternoon
8- drinking Kidd Coffee in a Starbucks mug
9- reading because I want to not have to
10- road trips
Above all I think we're happiest when we're doing God's will...
thoughts?
