As many of you know, we experienced a pretty life-changing, course-redirecting conference last year when Todd came to visit the Vineyard Church. We have had several other very powerful events in the past year, but none that made the impact that this one did. This is what I posted on the internet last year after his first night here with the leaders:
January 2012:
Good evening friends and family,
I need you to take seriously what you are about to read. It's hard to know how to ask this, so I will do it as plainly as I know how. Please, drop everything you are doing tomorrow and come to Champaign, IL (we start at 6:30pm central time). Sounds crazy right... it is. You've probably got work or family stuff or church things to do. And those are good things, but seriously drop them and come to Champaign tomorrow. Why?
I believe with everything that I have within me that this weekend is going to begin something the likes of which comes around only maybe only once a generation. Maybe the Lord has already been stirring new things in you over the past months or year. Maybe you've been reading about the Lord's movement in other places and you're wondering: why not here? why not me? why not my church? I believe this weekend holds the key to that.
Before today, I was just really excited about this thing our church was doing, but after tonight I'm so convinced that this weekend is something Jesus is doing and not us. If you trust me, even just a little bit, then you desperately need to be here. Take vacation. Pack your family in the car if you live far from Champaign, whatever. This weekend is going to be important and I love you all very much and I DON'T WANT YOU TO MISS OUT.
NEEDLESS TO SAY, but I was pretty excited about it... and I was right. The week TW was here was probably the most important week of my life since the time I first gave my life to Jesus. So, clear your February calendars people and meet us here in ChamBana for an amazing time!
