The Waters Family is Off to Illinois
By Adam Waters
Well, we are off to begin a new
stage in our journey as a
family. After 9 years in Ohio,
we are feeling called back to
the land of corn. Corrie and I
have had many great experiences
in ministry. She and I served at
Lincoln Christian Church
together as an engaged couple
while I interned there for a
year. We were on staff as
youth pastors at
Loveland, OH for 4 years.
Then, we tackled church planting
with the Orchard in Morrow, OH for
the past 5 years as Adam served as
lead pastor and Corrie as
administrator.
All of these ministry experiences
have led us to this stage in our
journey. We’ve learned a lot about
building team, managing programs,
leading staff, recruiting volunteers
and more. Most importantly though,
we have learned how to get “on our
knees” and rely heavily on the
Father for his plans and purposes for
our ministries.
We are excited about this new
opportunity for our family to serve
the Kingdom of Jesus. We are
moving to Illinois to join up with
The Vineyard Church in
Urbana/Champaign. They have
recently started 2 satellite campuses
and are committed to starting 8
more campuses over the next few
years. Also, they are committed to
planting several churches in the next
few years. You can visit them at
their website
http://www.thevineyardchurch.us/ to find
out more about their community.
We will be spending at
least a year in training.
During this time, we
will be taking lots of
classes, leading and
teaching, and most
importantly
praying & building
team.
Please, take time
and read all of our plans
and needs in this newsletter. We
hope to begin raising support
immediately for this adventure.

Ohio Support Rally
October 17, 2009
As most of you know, we have been
living in Ohio since July 2000. So for
the last 9 years this is the only home
we’ve known. We have made some
amazing and life-long friendships. Our
first attempt at gaining support for our
new adventure will begin this October
and we want to begin with those that
have lived and breathed ministry &
community with us during the major
part of our adult lives so far.
We need to begin rounding up all
interested individuals and churches over
the next month. Our goal is to have an
afternoon of prayer, food and receiving the first pledges for the upcoming journey of planting in Illinois.
So, OHIO PEOPLE, what do we need from you? (1)We need you to begin praying about supporting the Waters’ future. (2)We need you to begin talking with the church you’re attending about us. (3)We need you to clear your calendars for October 17th. (4)We need you to network with anyone that has an entrepreneurial and giving spirit.
Final note: Even if your local church isn’t interested, we’d like you and your family to seriously consider leaping into the adventure of taking part in a church plant. Though you may not be hands-on weekly with us in Illinois, we know that your hearts and resources will be uplifting us on a daily basis.
If you’re interested in attending OHIO RALLY 2009, please email us at pastoradamwaters@yahoo.com OR call Corrie at (513) 374-2117 OR Adam at (513) 374-2116.

Building Network
Fundraising Article
In order for the Waters family to
embark on this adventure, they will
need to raise both prayer and financial
support for the first few years. Their
goal is to begin building a network of
individuals and churches that will get on
their knees for the building of the
Kingdom in central Illinois and that will
open up their hearts to financially
support the Waters family for the first
couple of years.

The Need
The Waters are trying to raise $2,000 a
month for the first 2 years and then
$1,000 a month for the 3rd year. These
funds will help to supply their needs
while they are going through the
training process with Vineyard Church.
It will, also, accelerate their ability to
build their team up for the eventual
launch of a new church. Why ½ support
for the third year? Well, the hope is that
the team and church will be at a solid
enough place by year three to supply
some of the Waters’ monthly needs and
then fully support them in year 4.

What will the Vineyard supply?
The Vineyard will supply all of the
Waters’ training needs. They will help
to raise up the team, will provide
materials & ministry models, and will
be encouragement & accountability for
Adam and Corrie. Finally, the Vineyard
will be providing several thousand
dollars (exact numbers will be provided
later) for facility, equipment and
teaching materials to be used once the
church plant has begun. Essentially, we
invest in training with them for one year
and they invest resources in us the rest
of the way.

How Can I Help?
If you are interested in donating to
support the Waters, there are at least 3
ways that can be accomplished. First,
you can make a one-time gift that will
go towards the overall goal. Second,
you can pledge to make a monthly
donation. Third, you can make a yearly
gift that covers one of the monthly
donation plans listed below.

Monthly Giving Plans
These plans could change depending on
what one-time gifts come in, but the
goal of $2,000 per month can be
reached if we have:
*5 supporters at $200 per month.
*5 supporters at $100 per month.
*Five supporters at $50 per month.
*Five supporters at $25 per month.
*Five supporters at $15 per month.
*Five supporters at $10 per month.

When does all of this start?
Today! You can begin sending in onetime
gifts immediately. Monthly support
needs to begin by November. Simply
fill out the enclosed support card.
What else do the Waters need?
Here’s snapshot of their needs for the
Fall of 2009. (1)Lots and lots of prayers
for the house to sell and support to be
raised. (2)Help packing the truck for
Illinois. (3)Help moving into the new
home. (4)Finally, they will need to
begin building a team! If you feel called
to be a part of a church plant, then you
are encouraged to begin praying today
about joining this adventure.

Meet Our Family!
The Couple…
Adam is 32 years old and was born in Champaign, IL. He graduated with a BA
from Lincoln Christian College in 2000. He loves to play guitar, read, and watch
football. His heart is in conversations over a cup of good coffee. Corrie is 31
years old and was born in Pekin, IL and grew up in Detroit, MI. She graduated
from Lincoln with degrees in church office management and in non-profit
business administration. She loves to play volleyball, cook and Fall weather.
The Kids…
Ezekiel Wesley was born in January of 2006. At 3 ½ years old, Zeke is your
typical high-energy boy. He loves Thomas the train, cars, dinosaurs, swimming
and playing in the dirt. But, his favorite daily activity is tackling daddy.
Ethne Joy was born in July of 2007. At 2 years old, Ethne is a really sweet little
girl who loves all things pink and purple. Her babies, purses, and her Tinker Bell
blanket occupy a lot of her time. She, also, loves to emulate anything her older
brother does… both good and bad habits. Her favorite hobby is helping mommy.
The Dogs…
Our other 2 children are four-legged. Layla Marie is a black flat-coated retriever
that we rescued in June of 2008. Bartholomew is a black lab mix that we
rescued in July of 2009. Their favorite hobbies are wrestling and going to the
dog park.

Praying Up a Team
We can’t do it alone?
By Adam Waters
If you look at our model for ministry in the New Testament, you never see an apostle, teacher or even Jesus going out alone to share God’s message of love.
Jesus always had an entourage of people around him: the 120, the 72, the 12 and his close 3 (James, John, Peter). When he sent out the apostles, he sent them out in pairs. When Paul went on a missionary journey, he traveled with either Barnabas or Saul not to mention Timothy, Titus, John Mark, Luke and others who joined in his adventures. As Corrie and I begin a new adventure, we are starting to pray for our team before we even begin.
“One day soon afterward Jesus went up on a mountain to pray, and he prayed to God all night. At daybreak, he called together all of his disciples and chose 12 of them to be his apostles.” Mark 6:12-13
You can learn so much from the little passages about Jesus! Here, we see that Christ was focused on talking to the Father before his team was ever built. We want to do the same. So, starting before this letter was even sent, we have begun praying about the mountain of supporters, volunteers and pastors needed to grow a healthy and vibrant church community. Before we start training, we are praying for God to raise up…
(1)financial supporters
(2)prayer warriors.
We are praying that during our training God will raise up…
(3)shepherds
(4)group leaders
(5)children’s workers
(6)outreach participants
(7)talented worship leaders.
For the long-haul, we are praying that God will raise up…
(8)a small group pastor
(9)a kids’ pastor
(10)a teen pastor
(11)a worship pastor
(12)an outreach pastor

She will be evaluating and preparing for her eventual daily involvement in the life of the church.
Besides all of that, she will need your prayers as she…
